Here are some headline trivia from the last week or so, since we are very much still in the era when trivial things mean a whole big lot:

-- Cromer Crab Makes Second Appearance in Tern Household!

Yes, J. Lee, the crab man, has extended his opening hours. Cromer crab salad is a truly delectable thing

-- Pancakes and Other Low-Carb Baked Goods Still on Menu!!

Nigel unpacks the Holland & Barrett box (delivered bang on schedule this time). Chocolate brazils, walnuts, pecans, chia seeds -- and that low-carb staple, almond flour

bicarb
Plus, I managed to snaffle the last pot of bicarb from the Co-op. Phew. What a relief. We were down to the last couple of tiny packets

-- Locals Celebrate Something!

-- Food, Glorious Food!

At the top of the post, we have Orkney Mature Coloured Cheddar and a glass of Rioja. Heaven. Really.

Here are some other nice things:

cheese&wine
Cheshire cheese and Argentinian rose

bacon
Capsicums and tomatoes topped with hummus, and served with bacon -- works really well

f&c
The weekly fish and chips. The haddock isn't usually shaped like this, though...

And here's what we do with the excess chips from fish-and-chip day. Saute a few of whatever veggies you have available with a bit of something to add flavour (oregano, maybe, or cayenne also works well). Stir in the chopped-up chips, and warm through. Bind the mixture with two or three eggs. Add bacon or sausage or cheese, depending on what you have handy, and serve an extra couple of veggies on the side. Do not sniff at this humble fare. I tell you, it's really tasty:

Here's Shrieking Pit, looking very different from the last time we saw it:
