It's definitely time for another riverside post, as this waterway plays such a big role in our lives.

Most of the time, it's just plain beautiful, intriguingly different in the ever-varying light, and always supporting an interesting range of craft:












But sometimes -- as today -- we get a Big Event.

We just happened to be on the footbridge as a tug came up the river, towing a huge barge full of sand, complete with its own digger.
