Road trip Day 4 -- the second bit.

So, we've had breakfast. And it has stopped raining.

Which means it's time for a bit of a walk around Sibu:

Lunch back at The Coffee Code (our third visit of this trip!), and then we were off again, Bintulu-bound.

A rolling road. And a good road. All dual-carriageway. Not packed with traffic. A couple of bumps to watch out for, but otherwise, totally plain sailing. Pan Borneo Highway, all is forgiven.

You see some quite chunky mountains en route, their heads swathed in cloud. And lots of longhouses. Old ones, new ones. Judging by the signposts, there are plenty more just back from the road where you can't see them.

We stopped briefly at Tatau. This is quite a large settlement, but we just swung by the waterfront for a look at the river (Batang Tatau).

Just a few more kilometres after that, less than an hour's driving, and we're running into Bintulu.

We're staying (for the third time) at the Jinhold Apartment Hotel. Previously we've occupied one of the two-room flats, but there were none of those available this time. No problems, though, as the studios are also nice. Spacious, and well equipped. No sea view this time. But a useful washing machine stands ready on the balcony; there's a basic kitchen; and we've stocked the fridge with our supplies.

We're here for four nights, which -- after three one-night-stands -- will make a welcome change of pace.
