This has been one of those bumpety-bumpety weeks, in which things come out of nowhere to challenge your equilibrium.

I won't go into all the details, but the week began with a couple of things that made us decide to give up our current Kuching flat when we go to Europe in September. We'll store our stuff while we're away, and make up our minds where we want to live when we get back (probably in February). Saves a bit of rent while we're not here, and digs us out of our inertia. All good, really... Whether it will continue to feel that way as we grapple with the logistics remains to be seen...

We made a start on the forward-planning yesterday by organizing a mailbox. You do this at Kuching's very handsome Post Office

Then, after a few fairly sleepless days, we became aware of an issue that means Nigel will have to have some minor surgery... Should be routine. But it all has to be organized.

None of this is particular photo-worthy. But still, it's a rare week when Kuching doesn't provide nice things to eat and nice things to see:

We've been here loads of times, but something interesting always catches your eye. The decor is great: Not cutesy, but intriguing
