The highlight of the week had to be our croc visit. (And it was nice to know that the two animals who were getting ready to jet off to Denmark while we were there arrived safely.)
But the week has seen a few other notable events:
1. Checking out WareHouz (a supplier of homeware, clothes, camping equipment, and much more), who had celebrated the opening of their Kuching branch two days before:
And investigating one of the two huge foodcourts that have opened up next door. Good crispy pancakes
And this hails from the modern branch of a very traditional kolo mee seller in Kuching market
2. Celebrating a wedding anniversary:
Tuak Korner is still our preferred supplier for special occasions
And this was our very flavourful choice

And special coffees from Earthlings
3. Continuing to celebrate Kuching's remarkable cafe trail (it's a hard task, but someone has to do it...):
Free sample tartlets from Nam Joo. They tasted as light and fresh as they look
A friend said this stall does old-style laksa, the way she remembered it back in the day
Certainly tasted good...
Big Head Cafe. We were just there for coffee and a snack (butter coffee and sesame balls, to be precise), but we'll definitely be back for more

4. Visiting another temple:
Upstairs there's a lovely prayer hall. Later there was going to be chanting to celebrate the birthday of the Goddess of Mercy, but we were on a bit of a schedule today, what with going away tomorrow and all, so we weren't able to stay for that
5. Taking in another of the little expos that The Spring mall put on:
Always nice to see local artists' products. This amazing dragon is by Tan King Ping
And this lovely little piece is by Lim Chiu Ming
So that's another week... Off to scurry round packing now. Tomorrow, we hope, Singkawang!
