So, tomorrow, we're off on our next adventure.

Our last week in Kuching week has felt insane somehow. Why has this been such a difficult departure lead-up? There has been paperwork to gather for various reasons. The flat needed a final clean. And there was more last-week cooking than was ideal because of a renewed push to bring our nutrition back onto something that better resembles the strait and narrow. None of that seems to add up to much. But somehow it all became very manic and exhausting.

Anyway, as our flight goes quite early tomorrow, we'd decided that we'd spend our last night at a hotel. That way, you're not running round doing final checks on the flat, while trying not to get hot and dirty, and sticking to the timetable for leaving. It was actually a good strategy. We finished everything off just before 1600, and enjoyed a cup of tea with our neighbours, who then kindly took us to the Impiana. Much less stressful.

Why the Impiana? Well, back when it was still a ruin, we could see it from our covid quarantine accommodation. We didn't even know what it was back then. The following year, we discovered its name, and its reputation for being haunted. A year on again, and we learned it had been sold. Subsequently, while out on our walks, we kept an eye on its renovation progress.

So that's where we're overnighting. It's very pleasant, and I'd highly recommend it.

Having sussed the place out, there was time for tea at the Garden Bing, and then, with evening falling, we treated ourselves to a glass of something at the rooftop bar (the Merlot was very good):
