The other day we walked the section of the Bayr ny Skeddan that takes you along the Silverburn to Ballasalla.

Today we continued along the Silverburn, from Ballasalla to Castletown.

If you're starting in Ballabeg, you first walk to Ballasalla along the road. There's a pavement, but the traffic was surprisingly plentiful on this autumn Saturday afternoon. As compensation, though, you get some standing stones (as yet unidentified):

Then you turn off the road onto a track, and it's instantly much quieter:

Now, here's the even better bit: If you time this walk right, you also get steam trains (yay...!):

Castletown, meanwhile, seems to have sprouted some new murals since we last looked:

bathtubs

swifts

Excellent little walk. You can return to Ballabeg on the bus.
