I talked here about some of the things we've done with my mum-in-law, the last day of whose visit is today.

We rounded off in style. First up, brunch at the Sound Cafe, whose big picture windows look out over the lumpy island called the Calf of Man, the Sound (the stretch of water that divides it from the main Island), and Kitterland, the rocky islet in the middle of the Sound.

You can't see them with the naked eye (or at least not with our naked eyes), but with the aid of the camera's telephoto lens, you can see that the rocks on Kitterland are running with seals

Excellent brunch... PT can never resist a Manx kipper...

From here we went to Cregneash. As a child, I loved this little village, much of which has been preserved as a folk museum. It was looking incredibly beautiful this morning, with the late spring colours popping under the bright sun:

Cregneash inspires me to get more with the programme... I want to pick up Manx again, and to make an effort to grasp Manx history in a less piecemeal fashion than is currently the case. Just need more of that commodity that's always in such short supply: Time...
