It's the first time we've been in temperate climes for the summer solstice since we got stuck in Cromer during covid.

So we thought we'd make the most of it. First, we got up to see the sunrise. This is pretty heroic, given that said orb was climbing out of bed at 0444, and wasn't due to retire until 2155.

But so worth it:

dawn1

dawn2

sunrise1

sunrise2

flowers
Now everything is catching the light

trees

cottage

milestone
The mysterious milestone we can't decipher

Then, this afternoon, we had our very first lunch in the garden:

nigel

And this evening we toasted this pinnacle of the light with a glass of wine.

All downhill from here, then... Only joking.
