Glen Maye today. It's not far from Peel, so it sometimes used to be an evening walk for my parents and me. We hardly ever did the full monty though (right down to the beach). Usually, we'd just go down the glen, and back up the same way.

Today, we went down the glen ("lower route", past the waterfall), carried on down the track to the beach, and came back up via a path that climbs steeply up from the shore, hugging the side of the hill before depositing you back at the bottom end of the glen path. If you take the "upper route" back up the glen, you end up with a nicely varied circular walk.

Just in passing, the Glen Maye pub is still empty. Now someone wants to develop the site for housing... And the car park is full of motor homes (which, I should add, seem to congregate rather conspicuously in a number of places on the Island).

Anyway, here are some pics from what turned out to be a lovely walk:

Excellent little walk. Packs a lot into a small space.
