Peel today.
Peel is PT's birthplace.
Peel is the home of the kipper bap (various providers), and scrummy ice cream and chocolates (Davison's).
And Peel has pleasant walks radiating out in all directions (along the former railways; up Peel Hill; out to Patrick; etc).
One of my childhood stalwarts was the headlands walk that stretches up from the bay as you head north:

But you're soon leaving all that behind, and snaking along the top of the brooghs...

One of the features of the Peel area is the brilliantly coloured sandstone
When the path peters out, we used to just walk back to Peel on the Ramsey road. But you can make a nice little circuit, as Nigel figured out, by briefly heading north on the road, and then veering off down a lane to the right. This brings you to the railway line that used to link Ramsey and Peel, but is now a pleasant walking track:
Once back in Peel, and kipper-bapped, you obviously need to check out all the rest of the Peel things, like the breakwater and the quay and Fenella Beach:
Peel was hopping on this breezy, sunshiny, half-term day. Good to see so many enjoying the pleasures of this often-underrated place.
