A walk automatically goes up several notches if it has a steam train in it...
Today, we walked down to the railway station in Douglas, and caught the train to Port Soderick:
Note from personal experience: Do not let the window strap get caught in the door... If you do, the door will jam, and you'll have to call on a passer-by to free you...
The train drops us at Port Soderick station, and heads off to Port Erin. We, meanwhile, set out for the beach
It was quite a nice day, but there was a cold wind scouring the beach. Need to locate a warmer spot for lunch...
Climb back up to the top of the cliff, picnic hunkered down out of the wind, and then wait to watch the up train go by
After that, home via the Fairy Bridge at Kewaigue, as we've done a couple of times now.
A pretty good way to spend Easter Monday.
